Vincent Crawford's Tune / Richmond Cotillion

from The Hoover Uprights: Known for Their Reputation by The Hoover Uprights

/

about

The first tune is an unnamed piece from – you guessed it – Vincent Crawford of Avenstoke, Kentucky. he was recorded in 1979 by Gus Meade and John Harrod. The second is from Emmett Lundy's Library of Congress recordings. Although it was listed under this title, it bears no relationship to the common tune of the same name, causing us to wonder what its real name is. Lundy never recorded the common D tune associated with this title, but he most likely played it, leading to speculation as to how his version might have sounded.
